MOISTURE TRANSFER TEST
The fabric's ability to wick away perspiration and keep you dry is measured according to several criteria the absorbency of the fabric, the ability of the fabric not to saturate with sweat, speed of drying, etc. Level 1/5 is suitable for activities of low intensity or not generating a lot of sweat. All our hiking shorts have a performance of 3/5.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CONSUME LESS WATER WITH THIS PRODUCT
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce our impact on the environment, we opted for a bulk dyeing or dope-dyed method for the black colour model. This method incorporates the dye pigments from the yarn manufacturing process onwards, and consumes less water. The black MH500 shorts use this new dyeing process, which we want to replicate with other colours in the near future.s4
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
A product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators.A score from A to E is produced to help you make a responsible choice. This rating is used to easily identify the products with the best environmental performance. This is done by making a comparison between products of the same family (e.g. backpacks).Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach. s5
