The stage of acquiring dynamic balance
-Before the age of 4, the child must learn to direct his or her body in a given direction and then gradually refine this by moving the two feet forward side by side
-At 4 years of age, a child can walk one foot in front of the other, alternating on a support of at least one and a half feet in width.
-At 6 years, the child is able to walk one foot in front of the other heel/toe on a support of at least the width of his/her foot.
